PAULDING -- DeLoss "Chub" Porter, 86, Paulding, died Tuesday, November 6, 2012, at the Gardens of Paulding, Paulding, Ohio.

He was born March 28, 1926, in Paulding County, Ohio, the son of John Henry and Frey-Ethel (Aleshire) Porter. He was employed as plant manager for Stokely Van Camp retiring in 1987. He was a member of the Paulding Carnegie Library board and the Paulding Village Council.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Porter, Paulding; a daughter, Kathy (Dewey) Sanderson, Broughton, Ohio; three sons, Gerald "George" (Jean) Porter of Paulding, Robert (Jean) Porter of Lodi, Wisconsin, and Greg (Christy) Porter of Paulding; a brother, Rolland (Mary Louise) Porter, Grover Hill; a sister, Wanda Bisel, Evansville, Ind.; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Basil, DeLoy, Richard and Nolan Porter; two sisters, Dean Porter and Lucille DeCamp; and a grandson, Kirk David Porter.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, November 9, at Paulding Church of the Nazarene, Paulding, with Rev. Terry Porter officiating. Burial will follow in Live Oak Cemetery, Paulding. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. today, November 8, at Den Herder Funeral Home, Paulding, and one hour prior to services on Friday at the church.
