HAMLER -- Laura Eitzman, 93, of Hamler, died early Sunday morning, November 4, 2012, at the Henry County Hospital.
Her Legacy... She was born February 9, 1919, to Henry and Ida (Bartels) Arps in Hamler. She married Harold Eitzman on January 7, 1951. She was a homemaker and worked for Westinghouse. Laura was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Holgate. She enjoyed being outside watching the hummingbirds and working in the flower beds or on the farm. Laura was no stranger to the tomato harvester. When she wasn't outside, she was inside canning or making cookies, coffee cake or funeral beans.
Her Family... She is survived by her loving husband, Harold; daughters, Brenda Sonnenberg of Hamler and Bernice Germann, Napoleon; and two grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Beatrice Kay; sisters, Lulu Sonnenberg and Lillian Franz; a stillborn brother and infant brother, Lawrence.
Her Farewell Services... Friends will be received in the Zachrich Funeral Home, Holgate, on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. and again one hour before the service at church. The celebration of Laura's life will be on Wednesday, November 7, 2012, at 11 a.m. in St. John Lutheran Church, Holgate, with Reverend Theodore Rellstab officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
