HICKSVILLE -- Sylvia Sue "Mikee" Miller, 74, of Hicksville, Ohio, passed away Monday, October 22, 2012, at Hickory Creek of Hicksville, Hicksville, Ohio, after a brief battle with cancer.
Mikee was born on September 19, 1938, in Defiance, Ohio, the daughter of Walter and Mable (Rowan) Sholl. On July 6, 1957, she was united in marriage with the love of her life, Joseph W. Miller. He survives along with their family dog, Max. Together they raised four children, Michael (Jackie) of Peoria, Ariz., Douglas of Woodburn, Ind., Jolene (Michael) Gregg of Hicksville and David (Stacy) of Mark Center, Ohio.
Mikee was also the beloved grandmother to four grandchildren, Chelsie (Joel) Hardman of Fort Wayne, Ind., Joseph Gregg of Hicksville, Ohio, and Heidi and Ethan Miller of Mark Center, Ohio. Also surviving is her sister, Patricia Bohn, of Defiance, Ohio.
Preceding her in death were her parents; and an infant brother, Bobby.
Mikee was always active in the community, whether it was coaching baseball, county election board, fair board auxiliary or Eagle's Auxiliary, she was always eager to help other people. She owned and operated Mike's Lovin Oven Bakery, worked at Spangler Candy Company and Community Hospital in Bryan before retiring from the Dollar General Store in Hicksville.
Mikee was loved by many and was fortunate enough to have many people she included in her extended family, both locally and in Arizona.
The funeral service for Mikee will be Friday at 10 a.m. at Smith & Brown Funeral Home, Hicksville, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Visitation will also be Thursday from 2-8 p.m. with an Eagles service at 7 p.m. Burial will be in Six Corners Cemetery, Hicksville.
