PAULDING -- Deacon Leonard E. Roth, 61, Paulding, died Tuesday, October 23, 2012, at his residence.

He was born December 28, 1950, in Paulding County, Ohio, the son of Charles and Frances M. (Wyatt) Roth. On August 21, 1971, he married Kathleen Denise Clark, who survives. He retired from Consolidated Structure Plastics after 21 years. He was formerly employed by BF Goodrich, Woodburn, Ind.; International Harvester of Fort Wayne, Ind.; General Dynamics of Lima, Ohio; and the former Pawnee Plastics of Paulding. His deaconate ordination was May 20, 2006, in the Diocese of Toledo.

He is survived by his wife, Kathleen Roth, Paulding; a son, Adam (Denise) Roth, Bryan; a daughter, Mari (Bruce) Ivan, Paulding; a brother, Lew Roth, Fort Wayne; a sister, Georgia Wilson, Antwerp; and six grandchildren, Sarah, Greg, Elliot, Nicholas, Owen and Zach.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Ronald Roth; and grandsons, Jacob Ivan and Joseph Roth.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, October 27, at Divine Mercy Catholic Parish, Paulding, with Bishop Leonard Blair and Father Jacob Gordon officiating. Burial will follow in St. Paul Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m., with a vigil service at 8 p.m. Friday, October 26, at Den Herder Funeral Home, Paulding, and one hour visitation prior to services on Saturday at the church.

To honor Deacon Roth's wishes, in lieu of flowers, throws, concrete statuary, etc., the family requests memorials made to Masses, Diocese of Toledo Priests' Retirement Fund, National Retirement Fund for the Religious or Paulding County Hospice.
