Patricia J. Whatman, 79, of Defiance, passed away Friday, October 12th, 2012, at CHP Defiance Area In-patient Hospice Center.

She was born in Mansfield, Ohio, on September 28, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Lloyd and Mary (Davidson) Pfahler. She was the widow of Eugene Whatman, who died in 1978. Patricia had worked for Interim Healthcare, The Laurels Care Center of Defiance and Murphys. She was a member of Grace Episcopal Church and had attended North Dover United Methodist. She was a member of the Defiance Moose and Defiance Eagles auxiliary. Pat enjoyed camping and caring for others.

She will be sadly missed by daughter, Belinda (Michael) Mack of Defiance; sons, Rick (Patty Goodwin) Whatman of Defiance and Steve (Jennie Smith) Whatman of Defiance; sisters, Elaine Hall of Fruitland, Fla., Helen Bollinger of Tiffin and Janice Creps of Sabina, Ohio; a brother, Paul Pfahler of Lakeland, Fla. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Preceded in death by three brothers, David, John and James Pfahler; four sisters, Mary Strong, Margaret Hudnall, Maxine Smith and Joanne McKee; a great-grandson, Justiono and a great-granddaughter, Jaime Lee.

Services at Lawson-Roessner Funeral Home at 11 a.m. on Monday, October 15th, with Rev. Grant T. Nicholls officiating. Visitation is from 2-8 p.m. today at Lawson-Roessner Funeral Home. Burial will be in Riverview Memory Gardens.
