MONTPELIER -- Elizabeth E. Galliers, 91, of Montpelier, passed into the arms of Jesus on Saturday, October 6, 2012, at CHP Defiance Area In-Patient Hospice Center, Defiance.

Elizabeth was born on January 4, 1921, in Fortsville, Kentucky, the daughter of the late George and Frances (Brite) Whitten. She married Thomas Young on April 24, 1937, and he preceded her in death on December 13, 1981. She then married Edward R. Galliers on February 17, 1984, and he preceded her in death on October 26, 1999. She was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Montpelier, and was also active in the Women's Circle at Church. She was a former member of Orchard Hills Country Club and Riverside Greens Golf Course in Stryker, Ohio.

Surviving are her three children, William (Diane) Young of Mount Juliet, Tennessee, Sue (Pastor Keith) Hunsinger of Defiance and Anna (Larry) Dunlap of Pioneer, Ohio; Edward's children, Dick (Gail) Galliers of Melbourne, Florida, Fred (Bobbie) Galliers of Bethany, Oklahoma, Don (Pat) Galliers of Sandusky, Ohio; and daughter-in-law, Linda Galliers of Coldwater, Michigan; 11 grandchildren, seven stepgrandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, 11 great-stepgrandchildren and one great-great-grandson.

Elizabeth was preceded in death by her two husbands, Thomas and Edward; two sons, Delmar and Dariel Young; stepson, Buzz Galliers; daughter-in-law, Leann Galliers; five brothers and five sisters.

Funeral services for Elizabeth E. Galliers will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, October 11, 2012, at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, 402 Broad Street, Montpelier, with Rev. Bruce Tumblin officiating. Interment will follow in Shiffler Cemetery, rural Bryan. Visitation for Elizabeth will be held from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, October 10, 2012, at Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 206 North Lynn Street, Bryan. Visitation will also be held one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday.
