VAN WERT -- Violet L. Wells, age 84, died Thursday, October 4, 2012, at Colonial Nursing Center of Rockford in Rockford, Ohio.
She was born June 18, 1928, in Kewanna, Indiana, the daughter of William D. and Anna M. (Cain) Fall. On July 28, 1948, she married Lynn A. Wells, Sr., who preceded her in death on August 17, 1999. She was employed by Firestone, retiring in 1955, and was an avid NASCAR fan.
She is survived by three sons, Kenneth (Susan) Wells of Jonesville, MI, Lynn P. (Judy) Wells Jr. of rural Cecil, and David (Patty) Wells, Paulding; two daughters, Karen (George) Saxton Sr. and Patricia C. Ballard, both of Van Wert; many grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; many great-great grandchildren; and a brother, Earl (Marg) Fall, North Adams, MI.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Arnold, LeRoy, Wayne and Roland Fall; a sister, Mable Roepcik; grandson, George Saxton Jr.; and a great-grandson, Bentley Crowle.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, October 9, at Den Herder Funeral Home, Paulding, with Rev. David Meriwether officiating. Burial will follow in Scott Cemetery, Scott, OH. Visitation will be 5:30-9 p.m. on Monday, October 8, at Den Herder Funeral Home, Paulding, and one hour prior to services on Tuesday.
