Wilma A. Dodson, 92, of Defiance, passed away on Thursday, October 4, 2012, at the Laurels of Defiance.
She was born on January 24, 1920, to Earl and Elsie (Bensnyder) Hire in Defiance. She married Paul A. Dodson on December 4, 1942, and he passed away on March 14, 1991.
Surviving are her daughter, Sharon (Gary) Gearhart of Defiance; son, John E. Dodson of Defiance; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Paul A. Dodson; son, James Dodson; brothers, Raymond Hire and Richard Hire; and a sister, Pauline V. Hire.
Wilma was a former member of Zion's Lutheran Church. She worked with her husband at First Federal for 31 years and formerly worked at S-K Wayne Co. and Brown's Bakery. She did house cleaning for many residents in the Defiance area.
Visitation will be held Sunday, October 7, 2012, from 2-8 p.m. at Hanenkrath-Clevenger-Schaffer Funeral Home, Defiance, Ohio. Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 8, 2012, at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Rev. Max Begley will officiate. Burial will take place in Riverside Cemetery.
