PAULDING -- Kathryn G. Shrider, 85, Paulding, died Wednesday, October 3, 2012, at CHP Defiance Area In-Patient Hospice Center, Defiance, Ohio.

She was born November 22, 1926, in Paulding, Ohio, the daughter of Grover C. and Lovina (Long) Pollard. On June 21, 1943, she married William B. Shrider, who preceded her in death on February 26, 1980. She retired from Hays Albion in 1989. She was previously employed by the former Grizzley of Paulding and Syncro of Hicksville. She was a life member of John Paulding Historical Society, Paulding. She owned and operated the Paulding Laundromat from 1958-62.

She is survived by a daughter, Donna (Lonnie) Schooley, Paulding; three grandchildren, Bruce (Sabrina) Schooley and Dianne (Kevin) Saylor, both of Paulding, and Steve (Vicki) Shrider, of Phoenix, Ariz.; six great-grandchildren, Taylor and Brock Schooley, Lonna and Nash Saylor, and Christina and Vince Shrider; and a sister, Altha Reighter.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a son, Jerry Shrider; a daughter-in-law, Mary Ann Shrider; brothers, Wayne, Ronald and Dean Pollard; a sister, Alice Phlipot; and grandson, Danny Shrider.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, October 8, at Den Herder Funeral Home, Paulding. Burial will follow in St. Paul Cemetery, Paulding. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Sunday, October 7, at Den Herder Funeral Home, Paulding, and one hour prior to services on Monday.
