HAMLER -- Phillip L. Kepner, 82, of Hamler, Ohio, and formerly of Ormond Beach, Florida, passed away Wednesday morning, Sept. 26, 2012, at his daughter's home in Hamler.

He was born November 22, 1929, in Lima, Ohio, the son of Richard and Lois (Carr) Kepner. Phillip was a retired conductor for the DT&I Railroad.

Surviving are his wife, Carol Ferguson Kepner, Flatrock, Michigan; one son, Wade Kepner, Napoleon, Ohio; two daughters, Tracy (Gary Eitzman) Gould of Napoleon, Ohio, and Louella (Bob Gurley) Kepner, Hamler, Ohio; grandchildren, Wesley Myers, Kelli Wiseman, Brandon Gloor, Drake Kepner, Chet Whitney and Ian Gurly; and special friend, Obie.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Jack Kepner.

Friends may call at the Walker Mortuary, Napoleon, Ohio, on Saturday from 1-3 p.m. Graveside services will be held at a later date in Young Cemetery, Liberty Center, Ohio, where military honors will be accorded by the joint veterans posts of Napoleon.
