ARCHBOLD -- Lucille M. Crossgrove, 96, of Archbold, passed away Monday afternoon, September 24, 2012, at Fairlawn Haven Nursing Home in Archbold.
She was born April 20, 1916, in Archbold, the daughter of William and Dinah (Roth) Wyse. She married Walter C. Crossgrove on June 11, 1936, and he preceded her in death on September 21, 1997. A lifelong resident of the Archbold area, she was a homemaker and had worked as a bookkeeper at Bil-Jax in Archbold. She was a charter member of the Zion Mennonite Church in Archbold.
She is survived by four children, William (Hannelore) Crossgrove of Providence, R.I., Juliene (Ronny) Wise of West Unity, Norma (Ronald) Reynolds of Archbold, and Rodney Crossgrove of Rancho Mirage, Calif.; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; four great-stepgrandchildren; two great-great-stepgrandchildren; one sister, Lodema Nafziger of Pettisville; a sister-in-law, Kathryn Crossgrove of Archbold; and a brother-in-law, Lester Nafziger of Archbold.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a great-granddaughter; one brother, Wilbur Wyse; and three sisters, Stella Crossgrove, Irene Britsch and Marjorie Nafziger.
A celebration of life service will be held on Friday at 4 p.m. at the Zion Mennonite Church with Pastor Jeff Kauffman officiating. Interment will precede in the Pettisville Cemetery. Friends may call at the Fairlawn Chapel from 2-8 p.m. Thursday. Short Funeral Home in Archbold has been entrusted with the arrangements.
