NAPOLEON -- Henry Scheele, 82, of Napoleon, Ohio, died peacefully on September 20, 2012, at CHP Defiance Area In-Patient Hospice Center.

He was born June 21, 1930, in Henry County to the late Henry and Thelma (Rettig) Scheele. On October 1, 1988, he married Kathleen Williamson-Mauk Scheele, who survives in Napoleon, Ohio.

Henry worked for Chief Supermarkets for 38 years as a supervisor and buyer in Napoleon, Bryan and Defiance. After retirement, he then worked for Holsum Bakery as a sales representative for 10 years. He was a member of the U.S. Army National Guard, proudly serving his country during the Korean War and retiring as a master sergeant. He was a member of the American Legion Post 300 of Napoleon, and an active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Napoleon. He enjoyed gathering with friends every morning at Hill's for coffee. He avidly supported the Ohio State Buckeyes, and his hobbies included golfing, fishing, flower gardening, and taking his yearly trips to Alabama.

He is survived by his wife, Kathleen; children, Kevin Scheele, Hicksville, Ohio, Darrell Scheele, Defiance, Ohio, Jan (Linda) Scheele, Napoleon, Ohio, LeAnn (Loyal) Logan, Hesperia, Michigan; stepsons, Michael and Patrick Mauk, both of Tallahassee, Florida; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by sisters, Bernadine Butterfield and an infant sister, Delores; and a granddaughter, Alyssa Scheele. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, September 24, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Napoleon, with Pastor Peter Marcis and Charles Kramer officiating. Interment will follow at Riverview Memory Gardens in Defiance with military honors provided by Napoleon Joint Military Posts. Visitation will be at Rodenberger Funeral Home in Napoleon on Sunday from 2-8 p.m. and at the church on Monday from 9:30 a.m. until time of service.
