CHESTERVILLE, Tenn. -- Johnny C. Kelly, 59, went Home, after a short illness, on Friday, September 14, 2012, while at St. Francis Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.
He was born November 5, 1952, in Tupelo, to Gene and Jewel Kelly. In 1971, he graduated from Belden High School. He was a loving husband and devoted father to his children. He was the owner of JCK Construction. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, hunting, dirt track racing, and was an avid NASCAR fan. He was also gifted with a special ability to see the potential in houses that he renovated as well as the potential in those people he loved. He was a member of Valley Grove Baptist Church. Prior to this, he was a member of and served as a deacon at Bissell Baptist Church.
Services are 2 p.m. Sunday, September 16, 2012, at Jefferson Street Chapel with Rev. Steven Quarles and Dr. Rickey Blythe officiating. Burial will be in Chesterville Cemetery. W.E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include his wife of forty years, JoAnn Kelly; three children, Joy Chunn (Gary), Johnny Kelly II (Heather) and Jeremy Kelly (Whitney); six adopted children, Deanna Cobb, Tim Bell (Tessa), Michael Long (Taylor), Brent Carnathan (Abby), Steven Hall (Terri), Brooke Ellis (Wade); seven grandchildren, Taylor, Kara, Caity and Johnny Kelly III and Logan, Cameron and Ayden Chunn; one sister, Susan Baughman (Jerry); one sister-in-law, Linda Kelly; two nieces; three nephews; and two aunts, Lillie Carr (C.M.) and Ann Crane (Nunan).
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, William and Robert Kelly; one sister, Gloria Kelly.
It was his greatest wish that those he knew and loved would join him in Heaven.
