TOLEDO - Florence M. Heferle, 102, of Toledo, died 9 a.m. Saturday, September 15, 2012, at the Meadows of Kalida.
She was born February 7, 1910, in Palmer Township, Putnam County, OH, to the late William and Cora (Demland) Hoffman. In her late teens, Florence moved to Toledo to accept employment. It is there she met and married Anthony "Tony" Heferle, who preceded her in death in 1996 after 60 years of marriage.
Florence was a member of Boulevard Church of Christ, Toledo. In 1975, Florence retired from Kroger after more than 30 years of service. While there she had held various positions in several area Kroger Stores.
Florence is survived by her brother, Russell Hoffman of Continental; two nieces, Marilyn (Ira) Kannel of Montpelier and Karen (Ronald) Cooper of Oakwood; and two nephews, William (Kay) Hoffman and Timothy (Mary Jo) Hoffman, both of Continental. She is also survived by many great-nieces and great-nephews and a host of friends, particularly those at Boulevard Church of Christ, where she was a member.
Two sisters preceded her in death, Evelyn Schafer and Adeline Ball.
The funeral service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, September 19, 2012 at the Love-Heitmeyer Funeral Home, Leipsic, with Pastor Steven Heilshorn officiating. Burial will be at 3:30 p.m. in the Ottawa Hills Memorial Park, Toledo. Visitation will be Wednesday for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
