PAYNE -- Lucile Marie (Guingrich) Laukhuf Shealy, 103, Payne, died August 25, 2012, at the Country Inn Enhanced Living Center, Paulding, Ohio, where she had been a resident.
She was born on July 13, 1909, in Gridley, Illinois, the daughter of Emanuel and Rosa (Schultz) Guingrich. In 1927, she married Oscar R. Laukhuf,who died in 1976. Then in 1978, she married Rev. Grant Shealy, who died in 1987. She was a homemaker and a cook for the former Payne School System of Payne, Ohio. She was a member of the St. John's Lutheran Church of Briceton, Ohio.
Surviving are three daughters, Shirley Pettit of Orlando, Florida, Elaine Milan of Cedarburg, Wisconsin, and Marilyn Dargatz of Springboro, Ohio; two stepsons, Fred Shealy of Pharr, Texas, and Thomas (Kathy) Shealy of Columbus, Ohio; one brother, Robert W. Guingrich of Fort Wayne, Indiana; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; four great-stepgrandchildren; and a great-great stepgrandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, Oscar Laukhuf and Rev. Grant Shealy; four brothers, Chester, Virgil, Edward and Omer; three sisters, Madie Laukhuf, Helen Sinn Miller and Minerva Stoller; a son, Russell Laukhuf; and a daughter, Lois Ann Laukhuf.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, August 30, 2012, at the St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church Paulding, Ohio, with Pastor Karen Stetins officiating. Burial will follow in the Latty Apostolic Christian Church Cemetery Latty, Ohio. Visitation will be on Wednesday, August 29, 2012, from 2-8 p.m. at the DenHerder Funeral Home, Paulding, Ohio. There will be calling at the church on Thursday morning one hour prior to funeral service from 10-11 a.m.
Lucile is dearly missed by all who knew her.
