Pauline Reineke

Pauline M. Reineke, a resident of Laurels of Defiance, went home to be with her Lord on March 16, 2012, at the age of 97.

She was born in Defiance on November 27, 1914 the daughter of Harry and Florence (Miley) Hahn. In 1938 she married Ralph H. Reineke who passed away in 2007. Pauline was manager of the Dairy Department for Chief Super Markets for 27 years. Pauline was a member of St. John Lutheran Church where she was a member of the Ladies Aid and the PTA. She was also a member of the Defiance Society of Artists, the 13 Club and the Ohio Guild Conservation League where she served as a Past President.

Pauline is survived by daughters, Anita Peel of Defiance and Faye (Robert) Schaffer of Toledo. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, Lisa (Mark) Duer of Grover Hill, Laura Cashman, Jon Hornish, Rob Gray and Sheana (Matt) Behringer, all of Defiance, Michelle (Scott) Thomas, Studio City, Calif., Amber (Dave) Moss, Austin, Texas and Aminda Schaffer, Chicago Ill. Also surviving are 16 Great -grandchildren, 10 Great-Great-Grandchildren and a sister, Lila Virginia Yenser of Defiance.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, brother, Robert Harry Hahn and sisters, Alma Marie Hahn, Wanda Hahn, Bertha Jan Zipfel and one Great-Grandchild.

Visitation will be held Monday, March 19, 2012 from 4-8 p.m. at Hanenkrath-Clevenger-Schaffer Funeral Home and a one hour visitation at St. John Lutheran Church prior to the 11 a.m. funeral service on Tuesday with Rev. Donald L. Luhring officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to St. John Lutheran Church or to CHP Defiance Area In-Patient Hospice Center.
