LIMA -- David L. Donley, 69, Lima, Ohio, died at 2:40 a.m. Saturday, February, 4, 2012, at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima, Ohio.
He was born Oct. 14, 1942, in Bowling Green, the son of Bertselle and Lillian (Osborn) Donley. On Oct. 23, 1965, he married Lynn Schaeffer, who survives. Dave received an associate's degree from Davis Business College in Toledo, Ohio. He began Forms-Systems Plus in 1979, and truly enjoyed his work and seeing his clients. Dave had been an active member of Market Street Presbyterian Church, serving as a deacon and elder. He also served on many committees. Mr. Donley mentored a number of youths and enjoyed sharing his faith with them.
Time with family and friends was valued by him. His favorite pastimes included playing bridge, camping and reading. Dave was an avid fan of the Cleveland Indians and Cleveland Browns.
Surviving are his wife, Lynn (Schaeffer) Donley, Lima; mother, Lillian (Osborn) Donley, Bowling Green, Ohio; son, Jeff (Wendy) Donley, Elida, Ohio; daughter, Kristen (Todd) Deerwester, Findlay, Ohio; brothers, Larry (Linda) Donley of Rudolph, Ohio, and Dennis (Anita) Donley, Portage, Ohio; and grandchildren, Zachary and Jessica Donley and Skylar, Schae and Samuel Deerwester.
Preceding him in death were his father, Bertselle Donley; and brothers, Paul "Gene" Donley and Richard "Dick" Donley.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2012, at Market Street Presbyterian Church, Lima, with Pastor Dottie Kaiser officiating. Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. at Riverview Memory Gardens, Defiance, Ohio, following the funeral services. Visitation is from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2012, at Chiles-Laman Funeral and Cremation Services, Shawnee Chapel, Lima, and one hour prior to the service at the church.
