MONTPELIER -- Raymond R. Pessefall, 66, of Montpelier, Ohio, died at 7:58 a.m. on Tuesday, January 31, 2012, shortly after admittance to Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers in Bryan.
Mr. Pessefall was employed by Norfolk and Southern Railroad, retiring in 2005 with 30 years of service. In retirement, he worked for the Montpelier Auto Auction. He was a member of Montpelier Moose Lodge 312 and Montpelier Eagles Aerie 2246. Ray enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching NASCAR and traveling. He was also an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and loved horse racing.
Raymond R. Pessefall was born on September 29, 1945, in Defiance, Ohio, the son of James and Olive (Steele) Pessefall. He married Helen R. Huard on August 27, 1977, in Montpelier, and she survives.
Survivors also include his children, Christopher Strup of Defiance, Tonya (Dave) Loughborough of Edon, Ohio, Michelle (James) Aldinger of Aledo, Illinois, and Raya (Chad) Fackler of Montpelier; seven grandsons, one granddaughter and one great-grandson. Also surviving are one brother, James "Tony" (Patricia) Pessefall of Findlay, Ohio; and three sisters, Carol (Jim) Gares of Evansport, Ohio, Sandy (Fred) March of Defiance, and Linda (Walt) Proch of Sherwood, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, David Pessefall.
Visitation celebrating the life of Raymond R. Pessefall will be held on Friday, February 3, 2012, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. in the Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan, Ohio. Services and interment will be private.
