MONTELIER -- Bonibelle Joan "Bonnie" Stahl, 87, of Montpelier, died peacefully in her home Monday afternoon January 16, 2012, surrounded by her family.

Bonnie was born September 17, 1924, at Montpelier, to Maynard J. and Edith D. (Brannan) Brown. She was a 1942 graduate of Montpelier High School, and on December 6, 1944, was married to James B. Stahl, and he preceded her in death on October 17, 1991. A very devoted mother and homemaker, she was employed a number of years earlier in her life as a clerk and Western Union messenger at the former Foust's Drug Store, and later employed at Trautman's Five and Dime, both in Montpelier.

Bonnie was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Montpelier, and the Miriam Circle of the church; a 50-year member of the Twice Ten Study Club; the Montpelier Hospital Auxiliary; a former 4-H leader; an avid euchre and bridge player, enjoyed crafts of all types, and was an accomplished seamstress as well.

Surviving are her children, Tamara (Roger) Thorp of Montpelier, Constance (Marvin) Dunseth of Montpelier, Delores (James A.) Stahl of Paulding, Ohio, Bradford G. (Robin) Stahl of Montpelier and M. Scott Stahl, Elkhart, Indiana. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren, five great-stepgrandchildren; brothers, Ronald (Helen) Brown of Montpelier, Barry (Jolene) Brown of Montpelier and Steven (Bunnie) Brown, Milan, Ohio; two sisters, Beverly Henry of Montpelier and Cynthia (John) Storrer, New Bremen, Ohio.

Also preceding her in death were an infant brother, Larry Lee Brown; an infant granddaughter, Sarah Jean Stahl; two infant great-grandsons, Steven Michael Dunseth and Jack Thorp Keifer; and a brother-in-law, Paul Henry.

Visitation for Bonnie will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Saturday, January 21, 2012, in Wilson-Geesey Funeral Home, 335 Empire Street, Montpelier. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday in St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Montpelier, with Reverend Bruce A. Tumblin officiating. A private family burial service will be held Monday at Riverside Cemetery, Montpelier.
