SNYDER, Okla. -- Danny "Boone" Kroeckel, 66, formerly of Defiance, passed away on Monday, Dec. 12, 2011.
Danny was born Oct. 28, 1945, in Defiance, Ohio, the son of Donald and Norma Jean (Hall) Kroeckel. After a brief time in the military, Danny spent his time between Dallas, Texas, and Snyder, Okla., working at various jobs. He loved to follow the harvest every year from Texas to the Canadian border and had many stories to tell about his work and the people he met along the way.
Surviving are his twin brother, David (Sandy) Kroeckel and brother, Roger (Sharon) Kroeckel, both of Defiance.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, Kathy Rutherford and Sandra Cranford.
A memorial service will be held for Danny on Saturday, Jan. 21, 2012, at 1 p.m. at Defiance Church of the Brethren, 313 Washington Ave., Defiance, with Rev. Gene Yenser officiating.
Preferred memorials may be made to the family's wishes.
