DESHLER -- Eva D. Gottschalk-Barnes, 86, of Deshler, Ohio, and formerly of Findlay, Ohio, died Friday afternoon, December 30, 2011, at Oak Grove Healthcare Center, Deshler, Ohio.

She was born April 26, 1925, in Deshler, to the late Claude and Millie (Champion) Hillard. On October 3, 1944, she married Julian Gottschalk and he preceded her in death on November 1, 1971. On September 5, 1972, she married Richard Barnes and he preceded her in death on November 27, 1995. Eva was a 1943 graduate of Deshler High School and attended Beautician College in Fort Wayne, Indiana. She worked as a beautician and also at the Family Restaurant in Deshler. She was a member of St. Stephen Lutheran Church, Hamler, Ohio.

She is survived by children, Phyllis (William) Hogrefe of Findlay, Ohio, Leland (Kathy) Gottschalk of Deshler and Jolene Punches, Wauseon, Ohio; stepson, Robert (Kathi) Gottschalk, Deshler; grandchildren, Gregory Hogrefe, Douglas Hogrefe and Rhonda Hogrefe; and great-grandchildren, Joshua and Kara Shaffer.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Frank, Vernon and Clarence Hillard.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at Rodenberger Funeral Home, Deshler, with Pastor Sharon Stonerock officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Deshler. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
