CONTINENTAL - Frank Dunifon, 81, of Continental, died at 10:45 a.m. Wednesday, October 12, 2011, at the Meadows of Kalida.
He was born August 21, 1930, in Scott, Ohio, to the late Ezra and Rosie (Cotterman) Dunifon. On September 25, 1965, he married Carol Dotson, who survives in Continental.
Survivors also include his children, Deb (Dave) Booth of New Bavaria, C. George (Lora) Jorrey of Bowling Green, Brian (Sue) Jorrey of Kalida, Carol (Tim) Frysinger of Vanlue, Monica (Jeff Fitzwater) Paxton of Continental, and LaDonna (Scott) Wenzinger of Anniston, Alabama; 24 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Betty Gilmore of Defiance.
Preceding him in death were a daughter, Dawn Dunifon; and two brothers, Marion and James Strawser.
Frank retired in 1990 from Campbell Soup Company, Napoleon. He was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a life member of New Bavaria VFW Post 8847 and a member of Ottawa Eagles 2234 and Continental American Legion Post 541.
Funeral service will begin at 1 p.m. Sunday, October 16, 2011, at Heitmeyer Funeral Home, Oakwood, with Pastor Chris Baker officiating. Burial will follow in Monroe Cemetery, Continental, with military rites by New Bavaria VFW and Continental American Legion.
Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Saturday and one hour prior to services Sunday at the funeral home.
