OTTAWA (AP) -- A prosecutor says Facebook photos tipped off police to the whereabouts of a lemur swiped from the Putnam County Fair.
The photos investigators say showed a 21-year-old man at parties with the lemur on his shoulder.
Derek Mangas of Leipsic was sentenced this past week to 20 days in jail and a $500 fine.
Prosecutors say the lemur was stolen from a petting zoo at fair last June.
The Courier newspaper in Findlay reported that Mangas' attorney said that alcohol contributed to his client's decisions.
The attorney also told a judge that Mangas did take care of the lemur.
The lemur's owners say the animal has been more aggressive since they got it back and they can't put it in the petting zoo.
