LIVONIA, Mich. (AP) -- A major freeway construction project in the Detroit area is going to require motorists to take detours until October. The Michigan Department of Transportation says a several-mile stretch of Interstate 96 in Livonia and Wayne County's Redford Township is being shut down Saturday, weather permitting. The $148 million project to rebuild the roadway also includes bridge repair and replacement work. Details are posted on a website for the project.
