BGSU to lease airport facilities

BOWLING GREEN (AP) -- Bowling Green State University in northwestern Ohio will lease its airport facilities to a Minnesota company that will offer flight training to students.

North Star Aviation plans to build a new hangar and classroom space along with providing flight instruction.

The Sentinel-Tribune newspaper reports that university faculty will continue to provide classroom instruction for students studying aviation. The university also has sold its nine planes and related equipment to North Star Aviation.

Bowling Green President Mary Ellen Mazey says the school is looking for more ways to work with outside groups so that it can improve its programs and keep costs down.
