Q: I am surprised that "Grey's Anatomy" star Eric Dane was killed off last season. I have not seen him in any other television shows. What is he doing these days?
Is the actress who played Callie leaving "The Fosters"? I know she is on a daytime show that my grandchildren watch. It would be a shame if she were to leave "The Fosters."
-- Janet, Morningside, Pa.
Rob Owen: After a long stint on a prime-time show, actors often want to take some time off. But Dane will be back in TNT's "The Last Ship."
Maia Mitchell, who plays Callie, remains on "The Fosters" when new episodes air in January 2014.
Q: I just finished watching the first two seasons of "Downton Abbey" on Demand. When and where can I find season 3? I know season 4 starts in January.
-- Barb, 52, Pittsburgh
Rob: On DVD, perhaps at your local library. It also appears to be available on Amazon Prime. I know Comcast also had it at one point, but that window has closed.
Q: We enjoy watching "Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?," but they seem to be repeating the same handful of shows over and over, both during the day and in the evening. Are they going to produce any new episodes, and, if so, when can we expect to see them on air? We've been watching on the Game Show Network (GSN) weekdays at 1 p.m. (EDT) and Sundays at 8 and 9 p.m.
-- John, 54, Green Tree, Pa.
Rob: This game show was in production from 2007-11, according to IMDB. What John is seeing are reruns. And if they are the same episodes over and over, it's possible the network only bought the rights to air some of the episodes and not the whole series.
Q: Could you please tell me if you know what the status of a couple of TV shows are?
''Save Me," starring Ann Heche, is really a well-done comedy that I hope will be returning at some future date. Also, "History Detectives" has been on PBS during the summer season for years, but not this summer. I hope that it wasn't canceled but may return at a later date.
-- Don, Pittsburgh
Rob: "Save Me" was dead on arrival with a summer burn-off, so it won't be back.
''History Detectives" is being reformatted and will be back in 2014.
Q: Is there any indication that TBS will renew either "Men At Work," ''Sullivan & Son" or "Deon Cole's Black Box" yet?
-- Aaron, 24, Murrysville, Pa.
Rob: In August, TBS renewed "Men" and "Sullivan"; still no word on "Black Box."
Q: Will "Parenthood" be on again this fall? It's one of the best shows because it's all true to life. We've all faced the same problems they do. They could be the people next door, down the block or just around the corner. It's a captivating show.
-- Monica, Jordan, Minn.
Rob: "Parenthood" returns for a new season in a new time slot: 10 p.m. Thursday beginning this week.
Q: Some months back, I believe on History Channel, there was a show on Sunday nights called "Vikings." Will it be on again in fall/winter, channel, time, etc.?
-- Roger, 68, Florida
Rob: "Vikings" was renewed for a second season to air sometime in 2014. A premiere date and time slot have not yet been announced.
