Ohio boy charged with bringing knives to school

BARBERTON (AP) -- Authorities in northeast Ohio say there was no imminent threat when a boy brought two knives to school in a backpack.

Police say the 15-year-old told officers and school administrators he planned to "take over" and "do harm" at the school at some point in the future.

He has been charged with bringing a weapon onto school property, inciting violence, aggravated riot and inducing panic.

Two other juveniles and an 18-year-old are also facing criminal charges of their own following the incident Tuesday at Barberton High School located near Akron.

The Akron Beacon Journal reports police say the two other juveniles and the 18-year-old knew the boy had knives. They are charged with failure to report a crime, complicity to incite violence and aggravated riot.
