Ohio's Kings Island offers revamped smartphone app

MASON, Ohio (AP) -- Kings Island amusement park in southwest Ohio has launched a revamped smartphone app that will allow visitors to buy tickets and locate their family and friends.

The app for iPhone and Android users lets visitors purchase general admission tickets that can then be scanned through a barcode at the front gate. The new app also lets visitors pin the location of family and friends around the park.

A park official says the app offers more details on how to find the site's 80 rides, food locations and restrooms.

Kings Island is celebrating its 40th anniversary season, and recently expanded with a new waterpark.

The park is open daily through August 26th.
