TOLEDO, Ohio (AP) -- A Toledo man in the U.S. Navy surprised his family by coming home early after seven months overseas.
The Toledo Blade reports (http://bit.ly/UYQLOF) that 28-year-old Officer Eric Luffy surprised his wife and children Friday morning by arranging a homecoming with a local radio station.
Julie Luffy was lured to the "Andrew Z in the Morning" show after being told she had won a prize.
When she and her daughters arrived, Luffy walked in.
The family shared tears, hugs and kisses as the radio personalities who helped pull off the surprise clapped.
Luffy hadn't been expected to arrive home until just before Christmas.
The family will spend the holidays in Toledo, and Luffy plans to enroll in community college next month to study criminal justice and later join Toledo police.
