BBC broadcasts election from Ohio restaurant

CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, Ohio (AP) -- Anyone who thinks the U.S. presidential election isn't worldwide news needs only to look to a restaurant in a Cleveland suburb that's hosting a live BBC broadcast.

The (Cleveland) Plain Dealer ( ) reports that the British broadcasting behemoth picked Melt -- a bar and restaurant in Cleveland Heights that specializes in grilled cheese sandwiches -- as one of its American locations for reporting on the election.

The BBC will be broadcasting live there from early evening until about 2 a.m. -- or until the election results are final. The restaurant in the battleground state of Ohio was chosen because it's known for drawing a cross-section of the area's population.

Elsewhere, the BBC will join a University of South Florida "tailgate watch party" in Tampa, Fla.
