Land swap proposal involves Limited Brands founder

SILT, Colo. (AP) -- The Bureau of Land Management is reviewing whether a proposed land swap involving Limited Brands Inc. founder Leslie Wexner is in the public interest.

Under the proposal, the BLM would transfer 1,268 acres surrounded by mostly private land in Pitkin County in Colorado to Two Shoes Ranch, which is owned by Leslie and Abigail Wexner. The BLM also would transfer 195 acres on Horse Mountain near Eagle to the adjacent Lady Belle Ranch. Conservation easements would protect the land from future development.

In return, the BLM would get the 557-acre Sutey Ranch near the Red Hill Special Recreation Area, 117 acres along Prince Creek Road that are popular with mountain bikers, plus $1.1 million.

A decision isn't expected until 2013.
