COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) -- Ohio officials are unveiling to the public a replica Beechcraft Bonanza aircraft from the late 1940s.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol will host a dedication for the aircraft Friday at its academy in Columbus. The Beechcraft Bonanza aircraft is a replica of the Highway Patrol's first operational aircraft which went into service in 1948.
The replica, which was funded through donations from patrol retirees, will be added to a Highway Patrol artifacts display at Heritage Hall. It includes a 1939 Harley Davidson motorcycle and a 1938 Ford convertible cruiser.
