MIDDLETOWN, Ohio (AP) -- Police say one person has died after a car and a semitrailer collided near the entrance to a steel plant in southwest Ohio.

Police say the crash occurred shortly before 2 p.m. Monday in Middletown when a car headed east collided with a westbound steel truck that was turning left at an intersection near the entrance to the AK Steel plant. Police say the car's driver died at the scene.

Middletown police say they cited the semitrailer driver, who was not injured, with failure to yield while turning left.

An AK steel spokesman says the semitrailer was not an AK Steel truck and referred calls for additional details to police.

The name of the car's driver was being withheld until relatives could be notified.
