VAN WERT, Ohio (AP) -- Authorities say 14 people were injured when a van and a school bus carrying a baseball team collided in northwest Ohio.

The crash occurred at about 4:30 p.m. Tuesday on State Route 49, near the intersection with State Route 111.

The State Highway Patrol says the van was heading to Antwerp High School for a track meet when the crash occurred. The patrol says the driver failed to yield to the bus as she attempted to turn onto Route 49. The bus from Hicksville Schools was headed to a baseball game at Wayne Trace High School.

The patrol says seven students aboard the bus were taken to the Paulding County Hospital, along with five passengers from the van.

The van's driver and a 6th passenger were flown to a hospital in Fort Wayne, Ind., where their conditions are unknown.
