COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) -- Fire investigators have arrested three men in what authorities describe as a plot to set fire to a Columbus grocery store.
Investigators received a tip from police about the alleged arson plot and monitored the Frebis Food Center on Monday night. A fire division spokesman says they arrested three men who spread flammable liquid on the floor of the store. The liquid was not ignited.
Battalion Chief Michael Fowler says the motive for the alleged arson attempt is under investigation.
He says the men are in custody only for what happened at the grocery store but may be questioned in other arsons at Columbus businesses in recent years.
