COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) -- The Ohio State Highway Patrol planned to release new details Friday about the wrong-way driver crash that killed three college students on their way to a spring break trip.
The driver slammed into a car full of Bowling Green State University sorority sisters on Interstate 75 south of Toledo last week. Five Alpha Xi (zee) Delta members were in the car as they caravanned with other sisters in separate cars to the Detroit airport for a trip to the Dominican Republic.
Students killed in the crash were Sarah Hammond, 21, of Yellow Springs; Rebekah Blakkolb, 20, of Aurora; and Christina Goyett, 19, of Bay City, Mich.
The wrong-way driver, Winifred Lein, 69, of Perrysburg, also was killed. Two other students were injured and remained in critical condition Thursday.
