FORT MITCHELL, Ky. (AP) -- A northern Kentucky landmark hotel will be sold at auction despite an expensive effort to revive it.

The Drawbridge Hotel & Convention Center in Fort Mitchell has defaulted on its mortgage, according to The Kentucky Enquirer (http://bit.ly/zCFNmO ) and will be sold on March 6.

The Drawbridge was built in 1970 and Fort Mitchell Mayor Chris Wiest described it as a hotel where people once just liked to go. The 382-room hotel is built in Tudor fashion.

Court documents state mortgage holder Franklin Pacific Mortgage says the owners have defaulted on a loan of more than $8 million.
