NEW YORK (AP) -- Comments on the Oakland Raiders by the AP Pro32 panel (ranking in parentheses):
___
OAKLAND RAIDERS (30)
Chris Berman (ESPN, 30) -- Two in a row too much to ask.
Clifton Brown (Sporting News, 29) -- If Dennis Allen returns as coach, he will have plenty of work to do.
Cris Collinsworth (NBC Sports, 30)
Rich Gannon (CBS Sports/SiriusXM NFL Radio, 31) -- I'm sorry, but I expected more from Reggie Mackenzie and Dennis Allen in year one despite the roster.
Bob Glauber (Newsday, 30) -- A mess coming into the season, and still the same on the way out.
Rick Gosselin (Dallas Morning News, 27) -- Did the Raiders once have the slogan, "Commitment to Excellence?" These days there is no commitment and little excellence.
Clark Judge (CBSSports.com, 30) -- Just lose, baby.
Ira Kaufman (Tampa Tribune, 30) -- Like so many teams, the Raiders are desperate for a young QB to build around.
Pat Kirwan (SiriusXM NFL Radio/CBSSports.com, 30) -- The Raiders came into the season with a paper thin roster because of salary cap issues and injuries totally disabled this team that was mediocre at full strength.
John Lynch (Fox Sports, 31)
Alex Marvez (Foxsports.com, 27) -- Matt Leinart and Terrelle Pryor, huh?
Dan Pompei (Chicago Tribune, 28) -- Dennis Allen says Terrelle Pryor is not ready to be the No. 2 quarterback after nearly two NFL seasons. That might mean he never will be ready to be a starter.
