Sendai beats Osaka 2-1 to take lead in J-League


OSAKA, Japan (AP) -- Wilson and Shingo Akamine scored Saturday as Vegalta Sendai beat Cerezo Osaka 2-1 to take the lead in the J-League.

Brazilian Wilson scored with a right-footed shot from 15 meters in the 34th minute and Akamine doubled the lead with a header early in the second half. Vegalta has 12 points after four matches.

Jubilo Iwata edged champions Kashiwa Reysol 1-0 at home thanks to Ryoichi Maeda's 26th-minute strike and is two points behind Sendai.

In other matches, Nagoya Grampus and Omiya Ardija finished 1-1 in Saitama, Sanfrecce Hiroshima beat FC Tokyo 1-0 while promoted Sagan Tosu upset Vissel Kobe 3-0.

Tokyo and Hiroshima have nine points each.

Kashima Antlers remained winless after a goalless draw at Yokohama F Marinos.

Toshiyuki Takagi scored early in the first half to lead Shimizu S-Pulse to a 1-0 win over Consadole Sapporo.

Gamba Osaka, led by new coach Masanobu Matsunami, earned its first point of the season with a 1-1 draw at Albirex Niigata.
