America moves up to 3rd with win over Pumas


MEXICO CITY (AP) -- Matias Vusoso scored in the 86th minute to hand America a 2-1 victory over Mexico City rivals Pumas on Sunday in round 11 of Mexico's Clausura football championship.

The result moves America into third place on 22 points, while Pumas is in 13th on 11 points.

Santos Laguna remains in first place after defeating Cruz Azul 1-0 on Saturday and Morelia is second, also on 23 points, second trailing on goal difference following its 2-1 win Friday against Estudiantes Tecos.

In other weekend results, Tigres beat Club Tijuana 1-0, Toluca drew 1-1 with Monterrey, Pachuca defeated Atlante 3-2, Queretaro and Chivas drew 0-0, Jaguares defeated Atlas 3-0 and San Luis won 1-0 over Puebla.
