TAMPA, Fla. (AP) -- Yankees reliever David Robertson has been taken to a hospital for an MRI after spraining his right foot in a fall down the stairs of his spring training home in Florida.
New York manager Joe Girardi said his setup man was injured while moving empty boxes Wednesday night. Girardi said Robertson missed a step and tumbled.
Robertson's foot started throbbing, and he was put in a walking boot Thursday to make it more comfortable. An X-ray was negative.
Girardi said he's "concerned" and Robertson is likely "to be down a little bit of time."
