THE HAGUE, Netherlands (AP) -- The Dutch football association says Tottenham midfielder Rafael van der Vaart has pulled out of the Netherlands squad to play England in a friendly at Wembley after injuring his ankle.
The association said Monday that Van der Vaart has left the team's training camp after hurting his ankle in his club's 5-2 defeat at Arsenal a day earlier.
The injury-prone midfielder is not expected to recover in time for Wednesday's match.
Coach Bert van Marwijk will not call up a replacement.
On Sunday, Swansea goalkeeper Michel Vorm dropped out with a stomach virus and also was not replaced, meaning Van Marwijk travels to London with a 22-man squad.
