STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (AP) -- A four-game winning streak has lifted No. 12 Penn State atop the Big Ten standings heading into a key stretch that could determine whether the Lady Lions can claim their first regular-season league title in eight years.

At 10-3, Penn State has a half-game lead over second-place Purdue and Ohio State, the schools that happen to be next on the schedule.

The Lady Lions visit the No. 19 Boilermakers on Thursday before hosting No. 9 Ohio State on Monday.

Rebounding and defense have been important. Penn State is second in conference play in field goal defense and first in rebounding margin.

The Lady Lions are anxious, but not nervous. They say they are focused on just their next game.

Penn State hasn't won at Purdue since 2004.
