MILAN (AP) -- Genoa captain Marco Rossi has extended his contract in a deal that is set to ensure the midfielder finishes his career at the Serie A club.
Genoa didn't specify the length of the 33-year-old's new contract on Wednesday, but says Rossi "will finish his career as a footballer with Genoa" and will then move onto the coaching staff.
Rossi has been at Genoa on a permanent basis since January 2005, having also spent the 2003-04 season at the club on loan from Como.
He remained with Genoa despite its relegation to the third division for match-fixing in 2005.
