Olympiakos beats PAOK 2-0 to close in on lead

ATHENS, Greece (AP) -- Olympiakos moved to within two points of Greek league leader Panathinaikos after winning 2-0 at PAOK on Sunday from goals by Djamel Abdoun and Kevin Mirallas.

Abdoun scored in the fifth minute and Mirallas found the net in the 18th.

In other games, AEK Athens beat Panionios 1-0 to move past PAOK into third place, and Panaitolikos drew 1-1 with Atromitos. Aris beat Xanthi 2-0 in a match that was interrupted for more than 30 minutes after lightning struck the stadium, putting the lights out.

Panathinaikos was shocked 1-0 at lowly Levadiakos on Saturday.

At Thessaloniki, Olympiakos started strongly and scored early after Ariel Ibagaza's shot had hit the post. The rebound was crossed but goalkeeper Dario Kresic was unable to clear, and Abdoun pounced to score his first goal of the season from close range.

Thirteen minutes later, Mirallas received the ball from Djebbour near the left sideline and dribbled into the area, placing a low shot into Kresic's left corner for his 12th goal this season.

PAOK's Pablo Garcia hit the post in the 29th. In the 76th, the hosts were left with 10 players when Costin Lazar tackled Mirallas from behind and, when confronted by Djebbour, pushed and head-butted him to earn a red card.
