Ohio ad from Boehner's GOP opponent shows fetuses

CINCINNATI (AP) -- A fellow Republican challenging House Speaker John Boehner (BAY'-nur) has aired a campaign ad featuring graphic images of aborted fetuses and questioning Boehner's stance on abortion.

David Lewis is challenging Boehner in the March 6 primary. His ad aired during Super Bowl pre-game coverage on NBC's Cincinnati affiliate, WLWT-TV. It also was to air Sunday on other Cincinnati and Dayton stations.

Lewis says in the ad that Boehner betrayed abortion opponents by failing to cut funding for Planned Parenthood.

WLWT says in an online story that the station is not responsible for the graphic content of Lewis' ad. The station says it is required to give federal candidates unrestricted access to airwaves leading up to the election.

Boehner's office did not immediately return a call seeking comment Monday.
